I grew up in Inkster, Michigan but moved to Georgia in 2004. I knew at an early age I wanted to become a dentist, since my experience with my own dentist was not great. I decided that I could make a difference and help children learn to enjoy their dental visits.
I graduated from Spelman College in Atlanta, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. I obtained my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Meharry Medical College, School of Dentistry, in Nashville. After returning home and working in dentistry for a while, I realized I needed additional training to handle the more difficult cases and the more anxious children.
I decided to attend the University of Michigan and earned a master’s degree in pediatric dentistry and a specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry at Mott Children’s Health Center and Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. I have been practicing pediatric dentistry in Georgia since 2004.
I am a member of the:
- American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
- American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
- North Georgia Dental Society
- American Dental Association
- National Dental Association
- Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
- Legacy of Pearls Foundation, vice president
In order to provide optimal levels of sedation dentistry and its management, I keep current with my certification in pediatric advanced life support, as well as my certification with the board to administer oral sedation to/for children. I am able to provide care for the extremely nervous and anxious patients, as well, by providing IV sedation in the office with an anesthesiologist present or in a hospital setting at WellStar Douglas Hospital.
I am an active member of Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral, where I served previously as a hostess and currently volunteer with the Children’s Ministry at the Family Life Training Center.
I remain an avid Detroit Pistons and Detroit Lions fan, but have been known to root for the Atlanta Hawks or the Atlanta Falcons when they are not playing my home teams. I love shopping and entertaining family and friends at my home. My game nights are legendary!
I look forward to helping parents help their children to create and maintain happy, healthy smiles and a positive dental health experience.
